What is an NFT?

A Non-Fungible Token or NFT is a type of digital asset or token consisting of digital data stored in a blockchain. The ownership of an NFT is recorded in the blockchain and can be transferred by the owner, allowing NFTs to be sold and traded. NFTs typically contain references to digital files such as photos, videos, audio, etc. Because NFTs are uniquely identifiable, they differ from cryptocurrencies, which are fungible.

What does Phygital mean?

Phygital (physical plus digital) is the concept of using technology to bridge the digital world with the physical world to provide a unique interactive experience for the user. In Ronin, we are using this technology to add value to any physical object we feature. By recording all necessary information about an item’s origin on the blockchain, manual verification methods are no longer required, and the danger of fraud is greatly minimized. In other words, by giving stronger verification of an item's provenance, NFTs might increase its perceived worth and sense of authenticity.

What is MATIC?

MATIC is the native cryptocurrency of the Polygon blockchain. It is based on Ethereum’s ERC-20 standard, and is used to pay transaction fees on the Polygon network.

What is a Crypto wallet? Why do I need it for Ronin?

To buy an NFT, we have to use the fungible side of the blockchain which is the cryptocurrency. In Ronin’s case, we are using MATIC. As with conventional currency, you don’t need a wallet to spend your cash, but it certainly helps to keep it all in one place. When a user obtains cryptocurrency like MATIC or Bitcoin, they can keep it in a crypto currency wallet and utilize it to perform transactions.

What Crypto Wallet can I use with Ronin?

Currently, Ronin supports the MetaMask wallet. Among the various wallets available in the market, MetaMask is more popular because it is one of the first to support a browser extension that makes it easy to integrate with websites and similar applications.

How do I create a Ronin account?

It's easy as logging in through your Metamask wallet on the auction page for the item you want to bid on. You can start transacting in Ronin after a successful login.

Where can I get crypto to bid on Ronin?

To buy crypto that you can use to bid on Ronin, you need to use a cryptocurrency exchange such as Coinbase, Gemini, Binance, and eToro. To sign up for an account on these platforms, you need to verify your identity to prevent fraud and meet regulatory requirements. You must have money in your account in order to purchase cryptocurrency. You can add funds to your cryptocurrency account by connecting it to your bank account or by using a debit or credit card to make a purchase. Once there are funds in your account, you’re ready to place your first cryptocurrency order. You'll need MATIC cryptocurrency to be able to bid on Ronin. Selling Your Item

How do I sell my art collection on your platform?

You can reach out to us by email hello@ronin.art. Ronin’s team will process your inquiry and will contact you for feedback as soon as possible.

What types of artworks are accepted?

Ronin accepts all kinds of artworks as long as it is unique, authentic, and one of a kind. These items are subject to Ronin team's assessment upon submission for sale.

Is there a minimum item value requirement?

We don’t require any minimum value for an item to be featured.

Where are the items stored?

All items are in the custody of their respective creators. Ronin has partnered with SGMPX to securely store any piece after purchase. All transaction fees will be shouldered by the owner of the item.

Who will shoulder the shipping?

Shipping and transaction fees will be shouldered by the buyer/new owner of the item.

Do I have to pay to sell my asset?

As an artist or collection seller, you don't have to pay to sell your asset. Your asset or collection will be assessed by Ronin before we partner with you and feature your item on our platform. After the sale of your item, Ronin will deduct a percentage which will be discussed with the Ronin team.

Who will pay for the minting of my items?

Ronin will pay the minting fee for the items.

 

Buying an NFT

How do I purchase an NFT on Ronin?

You need to join and win an auction for you to purchase an item. You can check the featured items on our website. If interested, you can start by clicking the Place Bid button on the item page. Please note that you need to sign in to your MetaMask account to place a bid. For alternative payment methods, you can contact us directly.

What is an Auction?

An auction on Ronin runs like any normal auction for physical items, except that it is hosted online and features a collection of NFT items backed by physical assets for potential buyers to place competitive bids. The auction is managed by the Ronin team.

How do I place my bid?

The first thing you need to do is sign in to your MetaMask account. Click the Place Bid button on an item page. Type in the amount (MATIC) you want to bid. Ronin will notify you regarding the updates on the item you want to purchase. Note: You need to have enough funds to proceed with placing a bid.

Is there a minimum bid requirement?

Starting bid and bid increment are determined by our team based on the value of the item assessed. You can see the minimum bid that you need to comply with on the bidding screen.

What are the benefits of buying on Ronin?

Ronin brings rare art pieces that their artists made to exclusively sell on Ronin. When you buy the NFT of the art piece, you are granted the option to redeem its physical counterpart. The physical items are authenticated by SPGMX and stored in their highly-secure facility after purchase. Because Ronin is an online platform, the transaction fee is low compared to auction houses.

Are there any hidden charges?

No, there are not any hidden charges. Note that each transaction you make in the blockchain requires you to pay a gas fee.

 

After-sales

How will I know if the purchase was transferred to me?

To verify your transaction, you can use Etherscan. Search for your wallet address to see your token balance or enter a transaction hash to verify transaction history.

Can I sell my NFT outside your system?

Yes, if you wish to sell your NFT in a different marketplace that implements the same standard used by Ronin, you can do so by using the same MetaMask wallet.

How can I receive the physical asset?

Once you have been entitled to an NFT in Ronin, you are given the choice to redeem its physical counterpart. Follow the steps for you to claim your physical asset:

1. Go to your Profile
2. Click "Claim Physical Asset"
3. Fill out all the required fields and select the NFT to be claimed.
4. Submit Claim
5. Upon submitting, wait for a response from our team. We will get in touch with you for updates regarding your request.

Can I cancel my purchase, if I won already?

No, cancellation of purchase will not be allowed once the auction has already ended. You have the option to sell your NFT in other marketplaces that has the same standard used in Ronin.

Do I get to keep the physical item while I own the NFT?

You can't keep the physical copy and its NFT at the same time. While you own the NFT, its physical counterpart will be under Ronin’s custody. If you wish to claim the physical asset, we will be requiring you to transfer the NFT to our team for us to Burn it.

Do I get proof that I owned the NFT and I was part of the transaction?

Yes, you will receive the NFT in your wallet. To verify your transaction, you can use Etherscan. Search for your wallet address to see your token balance or enter a transaction hash to verify the transaction history.

What are the fees that I should know?

Each transaction you make in the blockchain requires you to pay a gas fee. Gas is volatile which makes each transaction different in price depending on the Polygon network activity. One of the advantages of Polygon is the low gas fees compared to the Ethereum network.
